- About the craft: Sohrai painting, a traditional indigenous art form practised by women, are deeply connected with the Sohrai festival. This winter harvest celebration, also known as the cattle festival, is observed in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. During this festival, women clean their houses and adorn the mud walls with intricate Sohrai art to commemorate, honour and welcome the cattle and harvest season.
