Coloured people in Britain

This original map of the London Borough of Stepney was used as research for Professor Michael Banton's thesis on where different groups were settling in this area of London and why. His research was eventually published into a book in 1954 called the Coloured Quarter. Michael Banton has gone onto write and publish many books concerning race relations.
