Columns and architraves

Plate taken from the first edition of Venetian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio's I quattro libri dell'architettura (The Four Books of Architecture), 1570. This book, which summarises his teachings and codify the Palladian style is one of the most influential volumes in the history of architecture.
