By Luís António Ferreira, known as Ferreira das Tabuletas (1807-?) at Lisbon, Viuva Lamego Factory. Both the four panels representing columns with Masonic symbols and the one depicting a flowered vase belonged to a vaster collection, now dispersed. Each column is topped by a Masonic symbol, ranging from a standing owl, from which hangs a sash with the inscription NEAR AND FAR, whilst another has a pelican feeding its chicks with its own flesh. This panel also depicts the tools of the stonemason: square, compass, trowel and mallet. The other two columns present respectively three pomegranates and a cockerel.
