Mr. Song Byeong-chae was commissioned as an Army second lieutenant in 1959, after which he served as a platoon commander. He participated in psychological operations against the North Korean army in the Guard Post area around Gachilbong Peak in Satae-ri in Yanggu-gun, Gangwon-do. He later fought in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He donated the musical instruments he used during psychological operations when serving as platoon commander, articles seized from enemy combatants during the Korean War, and minutes from operation meetings.
