An octagonal bronze commemorative medal presented to Australian Team Member, Les Harley, boxer, at the British Empire Games in Sydney. The medal features an image of a female figure standing on a globe with a scroll bearing the lettering 'AUSTRALIA'. The figure, holding a flag and laurel wreath aloft, is framed by two columns and a scroll with stamped lettering that reads 'BRITISH EMPIRE GAMES'. The date '1938' is at the foot of the image. The obverse features a shield, lit torch and laurel wreath.
