Commemorative stamp celebrating Ardaseer Cursetjee

Stamp issued in 1969 to celebrate Ardaseer Cursetjee Wadia FRS (6 October 1808 – 16 November 1877). Cursetjee was elected Fellow of the Royal Society for his adaptation of the steam engine to Indian ship building and "having otherwise promoted Science and the useful arts in his own country". He was the first Indian FRS.
