Royal Worcester wine cooler with lid, commemorating the Centenary of Test Cricket in March 1977, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This is one of only two such coolers, exchanged during the Centenary celebrations; the other is kept at Lord's by the Marylebone Cricket Club, who commissioned it from the famous Royal Worcester Pottery in England. Bone china, hand painted with green enamel and gold text. The base is round with two small side arms, and the lid has a decorative looped handle. The base depicts the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1877 on one side, and in 1977 on the other, with a kangaroo and lion on either side of each image. Printed above each image is text, "MELBOURNE CRICKET GROUND", and below, "SCENE OF THE 226th ENGLAND - AUSTRALIA TEST MATCH / THE CENTENARY TEST - MARCH 1977". On the lid is further text, "March 1877 - March 1977 - Commemorating the Centenary of Test Cricket".
