Commercial Airline “Black Box” Flight Data Recorder

In all commercial aircraft today are flight data recorders known as “black boxes,” which are actually bright red or orange in order to be more easily identified among post-crash debris. These boxes record 20 hours of crew communication and aircraft data, which greatly assist investigators of commercial air crashes.
