Known for her loose free-flowing style with a strong realistic streak, Bruton specializes in both mixed media painting and collage. Many of her collages employ mundane objects as the key to getting at a deeper memory or concept. This piece is done in an earth tone palette and has the appearance of being dirty and soil-like. Her work is reminiscent of Francis Bacons' work and is unsettling visually.
