If you stare at this image for long, strange things may start to happen. Some of the colours might appear to glow and ‘pop’ out of the paper. Victor Vasarely was fascinated by the way shapes and colours could play tricks on the eye. He was part of a group of artists who shared his interest and called their work ‘op art’, short for ‘optical art’.
