FELIPE SECCO (1964). Painter. He has lived in Mexico, the United States and France, where he studied at L’École Julién. In Uruguay, where he currently resides, he took courses on advertising drawing and attended the studios of Jorge Damiani, Ana Tiscornia, Nelbia Romero and Ricardo Mesa. He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions. Although he draws from nature, his production is close to European abstract constructivism, both in the study of the forms and in the importance of structure and fields of color. His geometric syntheses crate sign languages, a sort of ideograms, which are the “vehicle for a clear, harmonious and direct expression” of a coherent and organic cosmos in which the multiple and infinite possibilities of encounter are explored. His research seeks to bring the act of creation and the works close to all aspects of reality, especially those generally overlooked by the conventional artistic practice. The screen print Concepto V.Y.V (V.Y.V. Concept IADB#2004.25) presents a play between front and back, of knots and spatial intertwining that, like a Moebius strip, questions the traditional representation of space and form, proposing a process of broadening awareness, emphasizing the ambiguity of the artistic endeavor.
