Concerts in the Parks

One of the largest audiences in the Philharmonic's history (estimates of its size ranged from 75,000 to 90,000 people) filled the Sheep Meadow in New York's Central Park on the evening of July 26, 1966, to hear Leonard Bernstein conduct Beethoven's Eroica Symphony and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.
