This ceramic condiment jar dates back to the 19th century. It was found in 2007, during a major excavation conducted by Archaeological Services Inc. (ASI) at the northeast corner of Simcoe Street and Adelaide Street West in Toronto. Archaeologists recovered almost 70 000 artifacts on the site, including this undecorated jar. It was found in a townhouse privy, as privies were often used to dispose of refuse.
