After St. Blasien Abbey in the Black Forest was dissolved in 1806, its treasures were brought to St. Paul in Lavanttal. Amongst these treasures was this chasuble which subsequently became part of the collection of the museum. Until today a matching counterpart can be found in St. Paul. Besides scenes from the life of Jesus and St. Nicholas, the richly embroidered chasuble also depicts the handover of the chasuble to the abbey as well as Evangelists and prophets.
