Conservation of the Historical Collections of the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory

The Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory's collection consists of historic posters, photographs, manuscripts, and other materials documenting the struggle to end apartheid. Much of this archive is acidified paper and highly susceptible to degradation. This AFCP project involved the systematic de-acidification of the collection in preparation for its transfer to refurbished storage space.
