Composition in gray tones (predominant), blue, black, ochre, earthy and white. Smooth texture. It depicts the end of the construction of the Via Dutra in the stretch of the Serra das Araras, as if being viewed through a lens approach, seeing-three workers and some tools. The predominance of gray tones and contrast of light and dark volumes give the composition photographic characteristic paint. On the left, we see half-bust of black workers from the front, slightly facing right, wearing straw hat and shirt without open collar at the center and holding with his on the left hand the handle of a tool that can not be identified to be part hidden by his head. On the right road bed is seen in perspective for background with curve to the right at the end and black belt dividing the lanes. The road is already finished off by-wire saw in the corner of the composition, a set of tools: Paddle parts, a hoe a pestle and a pick. To the left of center of the composition, at lower and the flat bottom, two workers face to face with the trunks angled downwards suggesting they are collecting something on the ground, near a rock and another roadbed in perspective curve to the right. Sees intense blue band to "degrade" darkening at the top.
