The steel-framed and Indiana-limestone-clad Washington Building stands at one of the city’s most prominent intersections. It is located just one block from the White House and directly across from the U.S. Treasury on the east side of 15th Street at Pennsylvania and New York Avenues. In two of the images, in fact, a manned, makeshift police stand is on site. Look closely at the second of these images to see a traffic light attached to the pedestrian scaffolding.
