LEGO's Race 3000, first produced in 2009, is a standard luck-based race game. It does, however, feature some details which are generally only possible with LEGO board game building sets. First, younger children--the game says age seven, but reviews point to even younger with supervision--will enjoy assembling the game board and components. And second, the rubber-edged LEGO die is changed throughout the gameplay, adding different factors to the play. Players are also encouraged to add house rules as needed, and several reviewers mention that this can add to the game's play value.
