A. G. Spalding & Bros. Inc. purchased the Tinker Toy company in 1952 and continued manufacturing the construction sets in Evanston, Illinois. The company, known for its line of sporting goods, offered a variety of construction sets through the 1950s and 1960s. In early 1969, Spauling was acquired by Questor Corporation, and the Tinker Toy Division, along with Spalding became part of Questor's Child Guidance Division. Spalding offered the retro Wonder Builder Tinkertoy Set for just two years, 1953 and 1954.
