From the Artist: Often a silhouette is made to be able to recognize a sitter by their identifiable characteristic, the shape of a nose or the toss of hair. Here, I am facing the viewer and giving no distinction to myself as an individual. I face forward with no face to understand. I have removed myself from the self and left only a general outline of what was there. I am merely an eclipse of light on the surface. In doing so, my shadow is what is left of me.
