This document celebrates the 14th biennial convention of the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs in Chicago in August 1924. Confronted with growing racism and exclusion from the mainstream movement, Black women organized clubs to support Black womanhood and community-building efforts. They focused on issues including suffrage, poverty, education, lynchings, and domestic violence.
