This hammered copper Antoninianus coin was stamped in Rome during the rule of Gallienus from 253-268. The obverse, seen above, depicts a bust of Gallienus wearing a spiked crown and facing right. He co-ruled with his father, Valerian I, from 253-260 and alone from 260-268. The stamped motto states, "GALLIENVS AVG", which translates to "Gallienus Augustus."
