元亀2年（1571）、鑑連（道雪）は立花山入城に伴って家臣に知行預ヶ状を発給した。これは直臣の由布源五兵衛尉（惟信・雪下）に宛てたもの。惟延は庶嫡家由布惟巍の「次子」とされ、やはり嫡流は鎧岳城に残留したのであろう。
