Coral, cradle of marine biodiversity

Coral reefs cover less than 0.2% of the ocean surface but account for nearly one third of the known marine biodiversity. Reefs function simultaneously as habitat, nursery and larder, playing a key role for marine biodiversity and consequently for the human populations that depend on them.
