The server cabinet is a piece of furniture typical for the salons of the late 19th century, i.e. a light, wall-mounted or corner cabinet, intended for presenting family collections of glass, porcelain or silver. The cupboards were decorated with crystal mirrors in decorative frames, openwork carvings or inlays. Marquetry is a decorative technique consisting in lining the surface of the furniture with other types of wood that formed the pattern.
