Two-piece corset in greenish blue silk satin lined with cream silk taffeta, fitted to the chest with an opening for breastfeeding. It is tightened with 16 whalebones on each panel (72 in total) and fastens at the center of the back with a line of 18 eyelets, and at the center on the front with five eye clasps on the right panel and five gold metal buttons on the left. It also features a circular mother-of-pearl button with two holes, with a thread loop on the front hem, and a large hook clasp to fasten it to the dress. The breast-level opening is fastened with three circular mother-of-pearl buttons with two holes, and three triangular plackets with thread buttonholes. Embellishment: embroidered with twisted beige thread to support the whalebones, which resemble a fish skeleton. The upper section has an embroidered gold lace band in white taffeta, embroidered in raw silk with floral motifs and a multi-lobe festoon fixed with a white cotton braid. There is a moiré ribbon bow at the center and, below it, a wide, cream velvet ribbon on the top seam at the front.
