Cosmogonic Banquet (Banquete Cosmogónico)

With their unique and surreal style, Frida and Eddie share their take on Mexican Food. In "Banquete Cosmogónico" their intention is to pay tribute to the roots of Mexican gastronomy, to its link with the cosmogony created by their ancestors and to the union forged by all this between those who share the table. “For the main characters we focused on pre-Hispanic deities that are related to food. Tonacatecuhtli and Tonacacihuatl (the lords of sustenance and meat); Tlaloc (god of the rain who was in charge of the plants and the sowing of corn); Chalchiuhtlicue (goddess of the seas and of fertility); and Xiuhtecuhtli (god of fire who heated food).“
