Between 1779 and 1782, printmaker Valentine Green issued nine mezzotints after portraits of fashionable society women by painter Sir Joshua Reynolds. The portfolio titled "Beauties of the Present Age" quickly became a sought after commodity.

This print depicts Jane Fleming, later the Countess Harrington (1755–1824), a beautiful and wealthy heiress and later, a model of domesticity in British society.
