Those photos are from an original photograph album collecting 25 poses of the Countess of Castiglione, which she donated to Nigra and and which are now owned by the Museum. These photographs were made with the ‘glared collodion’ technique, and taken in Paris at the Atelier Mayer et Pierson, very fashionable with the upper classes during the Second Empire period.
