An early Du Paquier famille rose globular two-handled pot and cover. The blue and white panels to the sides with audience scenes on terraces in the Oriental style enriched in gold and famille rose enamels. The area below the handles is filled with jardinières with flowering plants issuing from blue rockwork. The border has lappets in iron-red, green and gold and the loop handles with crisply moulded foliage terminals. The flat cover has four dancing boys in a landscape in blue enriched in iron-red and gold around the finial formed as a recumbent boy in puce coat and iron-red Gitterwerk trousers revealing his bottom. There is an iron-red scroll border and a further border inside the lip of formal foliage.
