Covering a mould with old newspaper, Folk toys of Tottori prefecture

Dampened old newspaper is placed over the wooden mould and over which washi paper is layered with glue. Once the washi paper is dry, a cut is made into the shape to remove the mould inside. Gofun (whites pigment made from shell powder) is applied three times as undercoat.
