Cradle of life ～ Lake Tofutsu ～

Lake Tofutsu, which straddles Abashiri City and Koshimizu Town, is a brackish lake with an area of approximately 900 hectares and an average depth of only about 1 m. It is shallow, with water from the Sea of Okhotsk and rivers mixed in. Surrounded by coastal grasslands and wetlands, the lake attracts a wide variety of creatures.
