The art style is a revival of the old mural tempera painting style done over six hundred years ago on temple and palaces of Kerala. They in turn were revived from pre - historic cave paintings of Wynad. Traditional colour tones are made out of mineral and herbal colours. The shape of the state of Kerala is made up of elephant images.
