Cribbage is an ancient card game notable because of the use of a board, with pegs, to keep score. Probably originating in the early 1600s, cribbage is recognized as one of the most popular card games in the English-speaking world. Especially popular among sailors historically, the game today is a favorite of American submariners. A ship-shaped cribbage board is therefore somewhat historically appropriate. Cribbage boards take many forms and hand-made examples mimic many different shapes and sizes.
