Vietnam Veteran who was unhappy with the Memorial design. Bleicken wrote, "I feel the symbolism in this is outrageous. Memorials are white and reach towards heaven. Every element in this is negative. This is not a memorial. It is an "anti memorial" it is a monumental national apology." This Veteran, like many others, did not feel that the monument celebrated the people who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. Bleicken sought a memorial which would honor all Vietnam Veterans, and not a memorial designed by an "oriental."
