The Supplementum Chronicarum by the Augustinian friar from Bergamo Giacomo Filippo Foresti (1434-1520) is a history of the world. Translated into the vernacular, it was enriched with illustrations starting with the Venetian edition of 1491: among the most significant, the vision of God the Creator and the Earth swarming with plants and animals on the title page, and the “portraits” of famous cities, such as Rome and Venice. It is probably the “cronica” purchased by Leonardo in Milan in 1495 for 68 soldi (Codex Atlanticus, f. 288r).
