The cover for an autumn bulb catalogue from Cross & Co. Ltd, Walton Road, Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. The catalogue belonged to Mrs Doreen Whitaker who lived in Little Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, where she transformed a field into a garden. Out-of-date catalogues were passed to her daughter Diana, who would cut out flowers for her scrapbook - although this catalogue survived the scissors.
