As a classically trained painter, Lithuanian born Ernest Zacharevic takes a mixed-media approach to express himself on walls worldwide. The artist moves freely between illustration, stencil art, installations, and sculpture and describes himself as "a fine artist who prefers to work on the street." Zacharevic's work for Nuart in 2015 depicts a cross-stitched house on fire, evoking nostalgia in its conception by using traditional craft as a visual but staunchly contemporary in its meaning. The piece is reminiscent of the popular "This is Fine" meme, which depicts a building on fire and a comic dog's reluctance to accept the reality of the situation.
