Crown Of Thorns

Winner of the 2021 Golden Textures exhibition at Central Goldfields Art Gallery in Maryborough, Victoria, Australia was this work Crown of Thorns by Ballarat-based artist Suzanne Lyle. It was inspired by the indoor plant known as Crown Of Thorns, with its abundant red flowers amongst its spikes, which Lyle says flowered through the extent of the pandemic 'often bringing a bright spot to a dull day'.
