Crows in Moonlight

An ancient story tells of a three-legged
crow that carried a vital message to
Japan’s legendary first emperor, Jimmu.
Crows are therefore one of the symbols
of Japan’s imperial family.
Crows are also associated with the autumn
and winter. Those in this print are shown
with a full moon, a symbol of autumn.
