Literally "frozen crested lizard", this theropod was discovered in the Antarctic, near the South Pole between the remains of other animals, including a plateosaur (primitive dinosaur) and a tritylodont (distant cousin of mammals). We know the age of the Cryolophosaurus because fossils of these animals were already discovered in Lower Jurassic sites.
