Central nave of the crypt. The ancient crypt is gothic, it is an evolution of the buildings overlapt on the ancient little temple destined to house the remains of Saint Donnino visible under glass windows; allegedly expanded by queen Teodolinda, then Charlemagne and Elbungo, bishop of Parma; the cathedral is built upon the crypt. The current urn in crystal, gold and silver was built in 1932 by the sculptur from Piacenza Pietro Tavani.
