Women’s day-wear in the nineteen-teens was much less stiff than that of the Victorian era, though it still incorporated ankle-length skirts and tailoring. This ensemble, comprised of a pleated dress and cape made of crêpe de Chine, is flowing and feminine while the velvet vest and large, upturned collar incorporate aspects of tailoring inspired by men's fashions.
