"Cuerpo de ciudad" was created in Vienna as a response to a proposal by the festival organizers of Calle Libre to respect the existing graffiti on the wall. Medianeras, the artist duo behind the mural, decided to interpret the message of the graffiti artists as a reference to the world-famous "The Creation of Adam" fresco painted by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel.
The mural depicts a body with outstretched arms, with tags and graffiti painted on it like tattoos. This represents the idea that graffiti is like the skin of cities. The artists took on the challenge of incorporating existing graffiti into their work, in order to respect the urban community. In the middle of the wall, two fingers can be seen, which serve as a clear reference to Michelangelo's famous fresco.
