The Water Tank Project

The Water Tank Project
New York, United States

Artist Statement: I see water as an elemental force, and something as a matter of fact that we cannot live without. It is everywhere and an everyday part of our lives. So much so, that we take it for granted. We need to become more aware of water and its relationship to our health, as well as to the health of the planet. With increased global warming, concern for water has sharpened. Awareness of its vitality and necessity coincide with concern for its scarcity in some parts of the world, and its dangerous over-abundance in other parts. I want to make an image-sign that address the vital power of water, and its charge like an electric current through infinite space. My image flows like a wave, making reference to its material mutability, and picking up local color in movement along its way. With hope in mind, I want my image to embrace the water tank, as water itself embraces the entirety of the world – round and round, continuous, forever.
