Cypress Tree Montecastelli

Craigie Aitchison was a Scottish painter who lived and worked in London and Italy. In this print Craigie shows a lone cypress tree from his Italian home in Montecastelli. Montecastelli is a small village on a hill in Pisa, 503 metres above sea level. Behind the tree are gently rolling hills, which is common in the Tuscan landscape.
