In 1936, what we now know as Brookhill Village, was located in section D-9. Brookhill Village's current status can be dated back to as early as 1930. Resources have been diverted from the area for decades as a result of Redlining, a discriminatory practice by which, banks, insurance companies, etc., refuse or limit loans, mortgages, insurance, etc., within specific geographic areas, especially inner-city neighborhoods.
