Dadim, a fruit of the pomegranate family, is native to Uttarakhand

This sour fruit, from the pomegranate family, is locally known as Dadim in Uttarakhand. At Earthcraft, the handloom cooperative started by Avani, the dried peels of Dadim are used as dye material to create shades of yellow.
