One photograph showing a women carrying some large onions while pretending to cry by wiping her eye with a handkerchief. Photograph shows crop marks. This photograph was also used in a Daily Herald article from 1933 about preparing soil for vegetables in the winter with the caption ‘ You shed tears of joy when you pull up onions like this’.
